    Doug Wood in Concert - IWC Fundraiser - [POSTPONED]


    WHERE: Snus Hill Winery, 2183 320th St Madrid, IA 50156
    The Iowa Wildlife Center is postponing indefinitely its Douglas Wood benefit concert at Snus Hill Winery, scheduled for this Saturday, June 23, 7:00 p.m. due to Mr. Wood contracting an upper respiratory illness.

    Wild Awake - an Outdoor Festival for All Ages - [UPDATE - NEW LOCATION]


    WHERE: Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, IA
    The free Wild Awake! Outdoor Festival scheduled for the next day, Sunday, June 24, has been moved to a new location due to flooding at IWC's property. The outdoor festival will now be held at the Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, IA, and will begin at 1 pm and conclude at 3:30 pm. Participants can look forward to a live owl program, nature hike, fortune-telling, kid's activities, a meet and greet with IWC education animals; and more. Free admission. Come on out, meet us, see where we are, learn about what we do, and celebrate IWC’s progress!

    High Trestle Trail Hawkwatch


    WHERE: Either end of the bridge over the Des Moines River near Madrid
    On a clear day you might witness the passage of hundreds of birds migrating down the Des Moines River over the High Trestle Trail Bridge. Expert birders will be available to help you identify what you see.
